AI for iGaming operators
Most AI work in this industry is a demo that never reaches a player. The useful version is narrower and much less exciting: a specific decision, made more often and faster than a person could make it.
Royal Gambit builds AI into operator products and into the operation behind them — retention, support, content and the internal work that quietly eats a team's week.
AI for online casino operators: where it actually pays
The pattern that works: a repetitive judgement, a clear signal, and a person still owning the outcome.
- Retention decisions. Which player gets which offer, and when, is a judgement made thousands of times a day — exactly the shape that benefits from a model rather than a rule table that nobody dares edit.
- Player support. Most contacts are a handful of questions asked in a hundred ways, and deflecting the repetitive ones is only useful if the handover to a human is clean.
- Content at scale. Game descriptions, promotional copy and market variants are volume work with a house style, which is a narrower and far more achievable brief than "write our marketing".
- Internal operations. Reporting, reconciliation and the weekly spreadsheet nobody owns are unglamorous and consistently the fastest return.
- Anomaly spotting. Not fraud detection as a product, but noticing that a funnel step changed behaviour overnight before someone notices in a monthly review.
How we approach it
Start from a decision someone is already making badly or slowly, not from a model. If nobody can name the decision, there is nothing to improve.
Keep a person accountable for anything that touches money, a player's account or a communication. In this industry that is not caution, it is the operating requirement.
Measure against what happened before. An AI feature with no baseline is indistinguishable from a redesign, and both will be credited with whatever the numbers did next.
Common questions
Do you build your own models?
Rarely, and only where a general model genuinely cannot do the job. Most operator problems are better served by applying an existing model well than by training something bespoke.
Can AI write our player communications?
It can draft them at volume in a defined house style. What it should not do is send them unreviewed — anything reaching a player about money or their account needs a person accountable for it.
What about AI in player support?
Deflecting the repetitive contacts works well. The part that decides whether players hate it is the handover to a human, which is a product design problem rather than a model one.
How do we know whether it worked?
By having a baseline before it ships. Without one, an AI feature is indistinguishable from any other change made the same month.
